XENIX ETF AWARDS Italia 2024 in Milan We would like to thank Luisa Fischietti for her presentation on ETFs on the ETFplus market: She reports on the 2023 turnover of 65.21 billion euros and an average trading volume per order of 13,652 euros. We would also like to thank Francesco Casarella and Francesco Bergamini for discussing ETF trends in private banking, financial advice and do-it-yourself investing. They see fixed income maturity ETFs as the innovation, as Italian savers are looking to generate returns and hold their investments to maturity. We would also like to thank Luca Bagato and Andrea Tenti. Both experts spoke about best practices for the efficient trading of ETFs on the Milan Stock Exchange.
XENIX ETF AWARDS ITALIA 2023 in Milan
By way of introduction, Silvia Bosoni (Borsa Italiana, Euronext Group) presented her market overview of 1,746 exchange-traded products in the ETFplus trading segment of the Milan Stock Exchange. Dr. Valerio Schmitz-Esser (CSAM) explained how the trade-off between "sustainability and diversification" can be achieved in his presentation on sustainable, yet market-wide ESG equity indices for regional and global investments. An ESG panel with Erica Zanella (Moody's) and Fabrice Rahmouni (Euronext) discussed ESG trends, index rules for sustainability and successful ESG blue chip indices. A retail investor panel with Andrea Semino (CSAM) and Francesco Casarella (Investing.com) discussed ETF-savvy self-deciders from the so-called "Gen Z", who are however very often only short-term investors, as well as fee-based advice and the hurdles of the Italian ESG regulation for the distribution of ETFs. In the institutional panel "Comeback of Bonds with Carry", Enrico Camerini (CSAM), Enrico Ferrari from Banca Intesa Sanpaolo (IMI CIB Division) and Professor Luca Bagato (Borsa Italiana, Euronext Group) exchanged views mainly on the constant maturity of bond ETFs, on spreads for popular euro corporate bond ETFs, and on market situations in which institutional investors in Italy seem to prefer trading ETFs on-exchange rather than conducting bilateral OTC trades in individual bonds.
XENIX ETF AWARDS Germany 2023 in Munich
An evening for winners The German XENIX ETF AWARDS 2023 were presented on the evening of March 2, 2023 on the premises of the Munich Stock Exchange. Outstanding ETFs that currently have the best XENIX ETF rating in their respective peer groups were honored. ETF discussion: stock market and savings plans In the ETF discussion between Dr. Robert Ertl, Börse gettex, and Claus Hecher, BNP Paribas Easy ETF, it became clear that private investors are increasingly turning to global equity ETFs and monthly ETF savings plans as an entry strategy. Despite higher nominal interest rates, interest in bond ETFs among German investors is (still) manageable. Crypto panel: equity ETFs with blockchain exposure In the crypto panel, Martin Leinweber, Markt Vector Indices, and Sven Wagenknecht, BTC-ECHO, discussed not only high-tech blockbuster ETFs, but also possible complementary building blocks. They highlighted the regulatory environment for bitcoin as a direct investment and explained the indirect, exchange-traded access routes such as crypto basket ETPs and equity ETFs with blockchain exposure. In these highly volatile niche ETFs, one invests in listed blockchain technology companies on an indexed basis without investing directly in cryptocurrencies.
